Hernando Cortes arrived on the east coast of Mexico. Hernando burned his ships so his men would kill the Aztec. He did some small missions with his army and then set out for the capital city of Tenochitlan. Cortes's men hiked for many days to reach the capital city. Cortes arrived in Tenochtitlan with more desire for gold and riches then ever. When the Spanish first came, the Aztec thought it was their regal god Quetzalcoatl because of his horses and many men. The Aztec had never seen horses before so they seemed magical. Within a year or to of the spanish, war was opened against the Aztec. In just three shory tears from then, the Aztec no longer had a great civilization.
